Type 88C Main Battle Tank: A Photo Essay

Influenced by Russian armor designs, the Type 88C uses external fuel tanks to extend its operational range. Most of the Type 88C's main fuel storage is consists of 2 banks of lightly armored fuel cells above the suspensions and tracks on either side of the hull. While those fuel cells maybe vulnerable to small caliber projectiles but if properly designed, they could offer some HEAT protection that's similar to space armor.
