By: Garrick He

A new type of laser guided weapon system called the Red Arrow 9 is designed to defeat armored targets. It uses the guidance scheme of optical aiming, tube launching, TV goniometer, laser command transmission and digital controlling technology. By keeping the crosshair continually on the target; TV goniometer can calculate the angle variation of the missile relative to the line of sight and the guidance unit generates the laser commands that automatically direct the missile to its target.
